What are the HD DSLR Workshops?
The HD DSLR Workshops are a monthly series of classes that inspire and educate image-makers in creating stunning imagery with the Canon HD DSLR platform.
Who teaches the classes?
The classes are taught by Gale Tattersall, internationally acclaimed Director of Photography of the hit T.V. show “House M.D.”. The instruction is assisted by a team of industry professionals and visiting specialists in the filmmaking world. Visiting instructors include “House” camera operators Craig Cockerill, Dan Urbain, and Glidecam expert Vinny Minton.
What Equipment is used?
The workshop is sponsored by Canon and has all of Canon’s elite HD DSLR cameras. The workshop uses equipment from Redrock, Glidecam, Marshall, Libec, Cineroid, Cinemills, Anton/Bauer, and Modern Studio Equipment.
Where and when are the workshops held?
The workshops are held 3 consecutive Sundays a month from 10AM-8PM. There will be workshop intensives held on 3 consecutive days beginning in April. The workshops are held at the Tattersall Studios in West Los Angeles on Santa Monica blvd. near the 405 fwy.
Do I need to bring anything?
You don’t have to bring anything. All students will have access to Canon cameras with all necessary accessories, motion rigs, lights, off-camera monitors and all the newest in state of the art equipment.
Breakfast and Lunch are provided to all workshop participants.
What can I expect to experience during the workshop?
The workshop is the most hands-on HD DSLR workshop that exists. All students can expect to first learn the theory of camera functions, cinematic camera movement, and lighting to be used in hands-on in class shoots with models that are provided by the workshop.
Are there advanced HD DSLR workshops?
HD DSLR workshops is presently designing and will soon be announcing a new series of classes that will take place in late spring and the early summer months.

A Lighting Intensive for advanced cinematic production
A Traveling Workshop that will embody a full production
A Post-Production Intensive taught by the leading instructors for Adobe which will begin in March.
All attendees of the HD DSLR workshops will receive a discounted rate on the advanced workshops.

What is the fee?
The total fee for all 3 days of the HD DSLR workshop including supplies and meals is $1200. Fee amounts are non-refundable.
Certification-
All those who complete the course will be honored with Certification signed by Gale Tattersall and a DVD with all the students practical work. This certification comes with a considerable discount to the advanced workshops.
